NIBL Equity Partners to invest up to Rs 100 million in animated film

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 5 NIBL Equity Partners, managed by NIMB Ace Capital Ltd, has signed a term sheet with Incessant Rain Studios for a proposed investment of up to Rs 100 million in the upcoming Nepali animated feature film Lost in Mandala. The investment is intended to support the film's production and related activities in Nepal. The proposed transaction remains subject to the completion of definitive agreements and applicable conditions, according to the companies. Lost in Mandala is being developed and produced in Nepal for global audiences by Incessant Rain Studios in collaboration with Lost in Mandala LLC. The animated fantasy adventure is created and directed by Kiran Bhakta Joshi and draws inspiration from the spiritual traditions, mythology and Himalayan landscapes of Nepal. The screenplay includes contributions from Zack Stentz, known for his work on Thor and X-Men: First Class, while Deepa Chipalu Joshi is the producer. The film follows a 12-year-old girl raised by Buddhist nuns in a remote Himalayan monastery. She and her friends are swept into a mysterious parallel world, where she must use love and compassion to confront a dark force threatening both worlds. NIMB Ace Capital CEO Shivanth B. Pandé said the partnership was aimed at supporting Nepal's animation industry and locally developed intellectual property with global potential. NIMB Ace Capital has previously supported the project through fundraising initiatives and an exclusive showcase for investors and invited guests at QFX Cinemas. Incessant Rain Studios is an animation, visual effects and game development studio that has worked with international clients and Hollywood studios. It is currently developing original films and games alongside its animation and visual effects services.
