KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 7 DAV Blue defeated DAV Yellow by 30 runs to win the 8th Sushil Kedia Memorial Cup 2026, bringing the three-week Late Sushil Kedia Memorial Sports Gala to a close on Monday. The cricket tournament, which concluded the second edition of the sports gala, featured 16 school teams. DAV Blue had earlier defeated Nepal Police School by 19 runs in the semi-final, with Kamal Shahi named Man of the Match. DAV Yellow secured a place in the final after defeating Himalayan White House International School by four wickets. Ronish Karanjit was named Man of the Match for his performance. Shahi continued his strong run in the final, earning his second Man of the Match award as DAV Blue secured the title. Shekhar Shah of DAV Blue was named Best Batter and Player of the Tournament after scoring 129 runs. Sreyash Awasthi of LRI School was named Best Bowler with seven wickets, while Aayush Shahi of Himalayan White House IB World School received the Emerging Player award after taking seven wickets. DAV Yellow's Ronish Karanjit was named Best Wicketkeeper. The sports gala, organised by the Physical Education and Sports Department of DAV School, ran from August 17 to September 7 and featured competitions in seven disciplines-futsal, basketball, badminton, yoga, taekwondo, table tennis and cricket. The event drew 1,020 athletes representing 98 schools. Winners and teams were presented trophies, medals and merit certificates by the school authorities following their respective events.
