KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 8 Norway has provided medical, energy and technical equipment to Nepal through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism to support the country's response to the Bhotekoshi floods. The first flight carrying the assistance arrived in Nepal on Monday, according to the EU. More flights carrying assistance from participating countries are expected to arrive later this week. EU ECHO's Rapid Response Coordinator for Asia and the Pacific, Isabelle D'Haudt, formally handed over the consignment to Mahabir Pun at the airport. The EU said the assistance reflected continued European solidarity with Nepal as it responds to the impact of the floods.
