KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 10 The Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund has a balance of more than Rs 12.43 billion, according to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. As of 9:00am Thursday, the fund held Rs 9.14 billion in nine banks and $ 21.63 million in dollar accounts maintained at two banks, the office said. The fund received an additional Rs 172.57 million and $ 274,062 on Wednesday alone, reflecting continued inflows. The government recently released Rs 1 billion from the fund through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority to provide relief to victims of the Bhotekoshi River floods in Rasuwa. Officials said the total balance of Rs 12.43 billion includes both Nepali rupee and US dollar holdings, underscoring the fund's capacity to support ongoing disaster response and recovery efforts.
