KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 10 Entrepreneur and investor Chirag Goyal has been elected to the Board of Directors of Excel Development Bank Ltd. at the bank's 20th Annual General Meeting. Goyal, a native of Budhabare in Jhapa, is associated with the Goyal Group and has business interests in manufacturing, trade, banking and finance, insurance, real estate, mining, renewable energy, agriculture, hospitality and construction. He has also been involved in social and humanitarian initiatives for more than a decade, including disaster response, flood relief, healthcare, education and COVID-19 relief activities. His involvement began with Helping Hands Nepal following the 2015 earthquake and later included the Robin Hood Army Nepal and other community initiatives. Goyal served as president of the Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs' Forum (NYEF), Kathmandu, from 2021 to 2023 and is a co-founder of the Nepal Center for Political Leadership. His appointment comes as the development bank seeks to strengthen its board-level leadership and governance.
