KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 10 Fifty-eight students from flood-affected Syafrubesi in Rasuwa have been enrolled at Shree Geeta Mata Secondary School in Bijeshwori, Dallu, Kathmandu, to ensure continuity of their education following the disaster. The students-21 boys and 37 girls from Grades 1 to 10-were enrolled at the school on Wednesday. They were provided with school bags, stationery, shoes, socks and undergarments as part of the support programme. Kathmandu Metropolitan City is covering the students' educational expenses, while LRI School is providing transportation from their temporary shelter to the school. Karuna Foundation Nepal is providing other support for their rehabilitation and continued education. The initiative is aimed at helping the children resume their studies and regain a sense of routine and stability after the floods disrupted their schooling. Karuna Foundation said the collaboration between the local government, schools and civil society was intended to ensure that the disaster did not result in a prolonged interruption to the children's education.
