KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 18 A joint search and rescue team has recovered six bodies from Audit-3 tunnel of the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project in Rasuwa following the Bhotekoshi flash flood. According to the Nepali Army, the bodies were found entangled inside a steel reinforcement mesh prepared for concrete work in the tunnel. The team used grinders, gas cutters and rotary rescue equipment to remove them. The search was conducted by a joint rescue team comprising representatives of the hydropower project and other agencies, deployed to locate people missing after the devastating Bhotekoshi flood on August 26. The Army said the team also spotted what appeared to be another body covered in mud inside the tunnel, and search operations are continuing.
