SUNSARI, SEPTEMBER 20 A 19-year-old man was injured after a gun was fired at Kaptanganj in Dewanganj Rural Municipality-1 of Sunsari on Saturday evening. The victim, identified as local resident Niraj Yadav, sustained a gunshot wound to his thigh in front of the Laxminarayan Temple, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Sunsari. Yadav is receiving treatment at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar and is reported to be able to speak, police said. Police detained two people, Bishnu Kumar Yadav (18) and Jay Krishna Yadav (26), shortly after the incident and were searching for others who may have been involved. Police have not yet disclosed how many people were involved in the incident. According to DSP Khadka, preliminary investigation suggests that the attack may have stemmed from a personal dispute.
