2,000 kg of suspected marijuana seized in Saptari

Police detain two people after recovering 64 packets from houses in Dakneshwari

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 20 Police have seized around 2,000 kilograms of a substance suspected to be marijuana from houses in Fatepur of Dakneshwari Municipality-6, Saptari. Acting on a tip-off, a police team from the District Police Office, Saptari, searched the houses of Bhola Sada and Mangal Mukhiya. Police recovered 56 packets of the suspected marijuana-like substance from Sada's house and eight packets from Mukhiya's house, making a total of 64 packets weighing an estimated 2,000 kg, or 20 quintals. Both men were taken into custody along with the seized substance and brought to the District Police Office, Saptari, police said. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
