KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 20 Cathay Pacific has been named among the top three airlines in the world and received awards for the World's Best Cabin Crew and World's Best First Class Airline Lounge at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards. The awards recognise the airline's service and customer experience across its inflight and ground operations, according to Cathay Pacific. Cathay Group Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam, who received the awards at a ceremony in London, said the recognition reflected the efforts of the airline's employees to improve customer service. 'We are honoured to once again be named among the very best airlines in the world, and to receive the awards for World's Best Cabin Crew and World's Best First Class Airline Lounge,' Lam said. He said the airline had committed around HK$150 billion in investments to expand and upgrade its fleet, enhance cabins and lounges, and develop digital services. The World's Best Cabin Crew award recognises the service provided by Cathay Pacific's frontline staff, while the first-class lounge award follows the reopening of The Wing, First, at Hong Kong International Airport earlier this year after an extensive redesign. The refurbished lounge features redesigned dining and service areas, greater privacy and a focus on residential-style comfort, the airline said. Lam attended the Skytrax awards ceremony with Chief Operations and Service Delivery Officer Alex McGowan and Director Service Delivery Mandy Ng.
