KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 21 Yeti Airlines has completed 28 years of commercial operations in Nepal, serving around 900,000 passengers over the past year, according to the airline. The carrier, which began commercial flights in 1998, said passenger trust, safety and travel experience have remained at the centre of its operations throughout its nearly three-decade journey. Yeti described the milestone of serving 900,000 passengers in a year as a significant indicator of its continued presence in Nepal's domestic aviation sector despite growing competition and operational challenges. The airline said it has focused on improving service quality and operational efficiency, including making ticket booking, airport services, information delivery and overall travel experience more convenient for passengers. According to the company, aviation safety remains its highest operational priority, supported by continued investment in technical monitoring, crew and technical staff training, and safety management systems. Yeti noted that domestic air connectivity plays a vital role in tourism, business, healthcare, education and internal mobility, particularly given Nepal's challenging geography. The airline currently connects major cities and key tourist destinations through its domestic route network. Looking ahead, Yeti said it will continue prioritising service improvements, operational efficiency, digital transformation and customer experience, while maintaining its focus on providing safe and reliable air transportation across Nepal.
