The Prithvi Highway and the Narayangarh-Muglin section are among Nepal's busiest road corridors, serving as key links between Kathmandu and major destinations in western and central Nepal. Chitwan Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal said authorities would stop all vehicle movement from 8pm Thursday until 5am Friday as a precautionary measure. Officials said road and weather conditions would be assessed Friday morning before a decision is made on whether traffic can safely resume. Aryal warned that the suspension could continue beyond 5am if rainfall persists and landslide risks remain high.
