RAMECHHAP, OCTOBER 7 A 34-year-old man died after being buried under a mound of earth that collapsed while he was extracting clay in Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality of Ramechhap district. The deceased has been identified as Som Bahadur Mahat of Bijulikot in Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-4, according to police. Police said Mahat was buried when an earth mound suddenly collapsed at a clay extraction site where he had gone to collect clay. According to family members, Mahat had left home saying he was going to collect clay but failed to return by 3 pm on Tuesday. His family and local residents then began searching for him. During the search, they discovered that an earth mound had collapsed at a clay extraction site located about 1.5 kilometres north of his home. His body was recovered at around 12:30 pm on Wednesday after locals and rescuers cleared the debris from the site. Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
