KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 8 The Nepal Police Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has recommended filing cases against four officials of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) over alleged financial irregularities amounting to more than Rs 6.65 million. The CIB submitted its investigation report to the Attorney General's Office on Wednesday, recommending that ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, General Secretary Kiran Rai, Treasurer Rabindra Joshi and Accountant Sanjiv Pandey be named as defendants. According to CIB spokesperson Anupam Shumsher JB Rana, investigators found evidence of financial irregularities totaling Rs 6.65 million after examining documents and records collected during the investigation. The probe covered ANFA's financial transactions, decision-making processes and activities related to various football competitions. 'We have already sent the investigation report to the Attorney General's Office. Now, based on the facts, evidence and legal provisions mentioned in the report, necessary decisions will be made,' Rana said. The Attorney General's Office will review the findings and determine whether to proceed with formal charges based on the evidence and applicable laws. The recommendation marks the latest development in scrutiny of financial management within Nepal's football governing body. The case will now move to the Attorney General's Office for legal review and a decision on possible prosecution.
