Nepali Army wins gold at Cambrian Patrol 2026 in UK

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 9 The Nepali Army has won a gold medal at the international military exercise Cambrian Patrol 2026, held in Brecon, Wales, the United Kingdom. The competition was conducted on October 7–8, according to the Nepali Army. The medal distribution ceremony was held in the presence of Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Raj Sigdel, who was on an official visit to the UK. A total of 130 teams from 35 countries, including the UK, participated in the competition. Held annually since 1960, Cambrian Patrol tests participants' military skills and endurance. Teams are required to cover a distance of 40 miles within two days while carrying equipment weighing around 70 pounds. During the exercise, participants are assessed on a range of military skills, including weapon handling, information gathering, and the management of injured and sick personnel. The Nepali Army has been participating in the exercise since 2014. It had previously won gold medals in 2017, 2019, 2024 and 2025.
