LALITPUR, OCTOBER 14 Nuts & Scoop, an Italian-inspired gelato brand, opened in Sanepa, Lalitpur, on Sunday, with more than 200 customers visiting on its opening day, according to the company. Founded by Monica Taparia and Bipin Atal, the venture offers more than 20 flavours and uses specialised gelato-making equipment, premium ingredients and techniques supported by training at Gelato University in Italy. Sanjay Agrawal, president of the Nepal–Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), attended the opening on October 11 as the chief guest. He highlighted opportunities to expand Nepal–Italy collaboration beyond conventional trade, including through entrepreneurship, investment, tourism and cultural exchange. Agrawal said ventures that bring international expertise and craftsmanship to Nepal can support knowledge-sharing and strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries. The founders said they plan to refine their products through innovation, customer feedback and further professional training in Italy. The launch brings Italian-inspired gelato-making to the local market, with the brand aiming to establish itself as a premium dessert destination in Sanepa.
