KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 26 Trekkers, mountaineers and travellers may face challenging conditions later this week as a westerly weather system is expected to bring rain and snowfall to parts of Nepal's hills and mountains. The weather is expected to remain mostly clear across much of the country on Sunday, with some cloud cover confined to the Himalayan region. However, meteorologists say conditions will gradually change as westerly winds begin influencing Nepal's weather from Monday night. Clouds are expected to develop over the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, with partial cloud cover extending to Madhesh and other mountain districts by Tuesday. The likelihood of rain and snowfall is forecast to increase from Wednesday, particularly across Himalayan and hilly areas. Light precipitation may continue through Thursday and Friday, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Forecasters warn that changing weather conditions could affect trekking routes, mountain expeditions, road travel and flight operations in affected regions. Tourists, trekkers and local residents have been advised to monitor weather updates and prepare for possible disruptions.
