BAJURA, NOVEMBER 2 The body of a young man who went missing after heavy snowfall in the Badimalika region has been airlifted to the district headquarters, Martadi, following a search operation involving security personnel and a Nepal Army helicopter. Manish Bohara, 20, of Daiji in Bedkot Municipality, Kanchanpur, was flown to Martadi on Monday after his body was recovered near Triveni Patan in the Badimalika area. He had been missing since Friday after severe snowfall struck the high-altitude pilgrimage region. According to police, Bohara had travelled to Badimalika to visit the famed temple and surrounding areas. When he failed to return and lost contact, search teams from Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force were mobilised on Sunday morning. A helicopter carrying security personnel was deployed to assist the operation. Bohara's body was located on Sunday, but adverse conditions delayed its evacuation until Monday. The body has been taken to the district hospital in Martadi for a post-mortem examination. Police suspect that extreme cold and altitude-related complications may have contributed to the death, although the exact cause will be determined after further examination. Badimalika lies at an elevation of around 4,200 metres, where weather conditions can deteriorate rapidly. The incident occurred days after heavy snowfall disrupted movement in the area. In a separate rescue operation, Sagar Karki, 21, of Krishnapur Municipality-2, Kanchanpur, was airlifted to safety after becoming stranded at Triveni Patan following the same snowfall.
