KANCHANPUR: Freed kamaiyas here have set up a multipurpose cooperative by merging the groups formed by Poverty Alleviation Trust. Freed kamaiyas of Kanchanpur, Jhalari and Pipladi established Kabita Multipurpose Cooperative by merging six different groups. The cooperative has Rs 2 million capital and 125 shareholders. Cooperative chairman Man Bahadur Chaudhary said the cooperative will invest in income-generating programmes, provide skilled training and help small entrepreneurs.
