The Pyuthan District Court Judge, Birendra Kumar Karna, who was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe a few weeks ago, has admitted to the crime before the Judicial Council recently.

“He has admitted to the crime in his statement,” a Judicial Council source told this daily on condition of anonymity. Karna told the investigation team that he had taken “cash” from Advocate Megha Raj Bhatta, the source said. Supreme Court justice Min Bahadur Rayamajhi headed the investigation team.

“The investigation report would be submitted to the Judicial Council headed by Chief Justice Hari Prasad Sharma soon so that it can take action against Karna,” the source added.
