Kathmandu, May 12:
International Conference on Capacity Building of Single Women kicked off today with a peace rally this morning.
The three-day conference, attended by around 100 participants from thirty seven districts of Nepal and 15 participants from 12 other countries, was organised by Women for Human Rights-Single Women Group.
Lily Thapa, chairperson of WHR said that the conference is an attempt to empower single women as their plight becomes an issue of international concern. The participants are coming up with a ‘Common Widow’s Charter Kathmandu Declaration’.
