Ferry sinks, 11 killed
PATUAKHALI: An overloaded ferry capsized in Bangladesh on Sunday, killing at least 11 and leaving about 100 others missing. The double-deck ferry capsized and sank in the Bura Gauranga river after a strong wind struck it in Patuakhali district. — AP
Taslima leaves India
KOLKATA: Exiled Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen on Sunday left for Europe to participate in conferences and receive honours, including one from the Belgium parliament. Taslima, whose Indian visa expired on Sunday, said she hoped to return to India later this year. — HNS
