Drug firm inspected
KATHMANDU: A three-member team from the District Administration Office of Kathmandu on Sunday visited controversy-ridden Royal Drugs Limited for investigation. Sources at the state-owned drugs industry said that the team visited to investigate the present status of the company as it received reports that the company is mismanaged. — HNS
Pact on landfill site
KATHMANDU: The solid waste generated in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan City areas would be, from now on, dumped at Okharpauwa landfill site. An agreement to this effect was signed here on Sunday between the KMC, the LSMC and the Solid Waste Management and Resource Mobilisation Centre and the Okharpauwa Local Landfill Site Main Coordination Committee. — RSS
Tharus demand panel
BHAKTAPUR: Tharu Welfare Society (TWS) has urged the government to form a high-level commission to rehabilitate the freed Kamaiyas. The central meet of the TWS that concluded on Sunday has also demanded quota for Tharu students. — HNS

LALITPUR: Lalitpur CDO Sthaneshwore Devkota on behalf of the Nanda Kishore Prathva Trust, on Sunday donated 8,000 exercise books to five community primary schools in Lubhu. CDO Devkota requested teacher to impart quality education. — HNS

LALITPUR: Organisation for Community Child and Environment Development, Nepal Youth Club Kathmandu organised a free eye camp at Kapan village development committee with the support of Tilganga Eye Centre and Embassy of Australia on Saturday. — HNS
Five cheaters held
KATHMANDU: Badri Narayan Nandi and Dhruba Rayamajhi were arrested on charge of cheating 700 persons of Rs 8,125 each, said Hari Bahadur Pal, deputy superintendent of police at the Kathmandu District Police Office, on Sunday. Also on Sunday police arrested arrested Nabaraj Khanal, Prakash Adhikari and Ramesh Khanal of Makawanpur for cheating . — HNS
