Gachhadar meets Pranab, Digvijay

NEW DELHI: Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar separately met India's Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Indian National Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh here today. Mukherjee told Gachhadar that India's earnest desire was to see the peace process completed and Nepal getting a new constitution within the deadline. "It was a good, comprehensive and cordial dialogue with Minister Mukherjee," Gachhadar said after his meeting with the senior member of the Indian Cabinet, who has extensive knowledge of Nepal's political affairs and Indo-Nepal relations. In his talks with Mukherjee, Gachhadar also discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and Nepal's development projects. In his meeting with Singh, the Deputy Prime Minister apprised the former of Nepal's current political situation and both the leaders discussed almost all issues of bilateral cooperation, according to Gachhadar. Deputy Prime Minister Gachhadar is scheduled to meet some Indian Cabinet ministers and other political leaders tomorrow. He will return to Kathmandu on Saturday.
