Who will cut an album? Who becomes the star? Who will be a new singing gem to add value to upcoming Nepali Films by Tulsi Ghimire, Yuvraj Lama and Ashok Sharma? The answer lies not afar. As Samsung Nepali Tara comes to third round of competition, many of you might have made your prediction. And don’t give up, as the organisers have decided, one whose prediction comes true will win lot of prizes. Samsung Nepali Tara — a hunt for the singing star — is the biggest show in Nepali television history and has pulled stupendous viewership in the recent days. A studio 4 presentation, Samsung Nepali Star is aired every Saturday on Nepal Television at 7:30 and Annapurna Post is the official media for the event.
Starting with coming episode on May 21, next round of competition begins which narrows the competition. Out of 40 aspirant singers, coming episodes will bring the number of participants down to 20. As the number of competitors decreases, the show becomes more interesting and exciting. Brazesh Khanal says, “It’s matter of proud to host a show like this which has a great viewership. Now onwards, singers will have an opportunity to sing a wide variety of songs — from film songs to pop, folk to patriotic. This makes the show more interesting.”
With every episode, the day to declare the idol is nearing and on behalf of the hosts, they are also planning to add more spice to the show. Ritu, co-host of the show says, “It is the biggest show in Nepali television and I am proud to be associated with show.” “Only time will tell who wins the title but there is no doubt that the top 10 contestants, whoever they are from among 40, will definitely create a buzz in Nepali music world,” adds Brazesh.
