BoK awards students
KATHMANDU: Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) has joined hands with Village School-College Students (VISCOS) Scholarship Programme, which provides scholarships to meritorious students from rural areas and government schools. Under this programme, a total of 15 students and one teacher will be awarded every year with cash prizes. BoK has committed for the next five years starting from this academic year to contribute a sum of Rs 120,000 to Budhanilkantha Madhyamik Vidhyalaya. — HNS
Promoting image
BHAKTAPUR: Bhaktapur Cottage and Small Industry Association (BCSIA) is to unveil various programmes to promote handicrafts and indigenous products from Bhaktapur. Satya Narayan Prajapati, president of BCSIA said the programme will promote ‘fine craftsmanship image’ of Bhaktapur. Yubak Rajbhandari, president of Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that industry association should promote member-oriented programmes. — HNS
Tourism bazaar
KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Bazaar (NTB) has been established in Germany to promote tourism through handicraft products. Madan K Bhattarai, Nepali ambassador to Germany inaugurated the bazaar recently. He, after the inauguration of the bazaar, said that the establishment of the NTB would help promote Nepal in Europe through art and culture. NTB representative based in Berlin, Dil Bahadur Gurung said that the establishment of NTB would promote Nepali handicrafts. — HNS
Fit Rite’s contest
KATHMANDU: Fit Rite sport shoe recently organised a ‘guess and win’ contest coinciding with AFC Presidents Cup. The contestants were asked to send in their guesses regarding the first three winners of the AFC Cup. The entry could be sent via email and post.
