LONDON: Blackpool boosted their bid to land a Championship play-off place with a 4-2 victory at struggling Scunthorpe on Friday. Ian Holloway's side are one place and one point behind sixth placed Leicester after a late goal spree at Glanford Park. They took the lead through Andrew Wright's 22nd-minute own goal before Grant McCann equalised from the penalty spot three minutes into the second half. Seamus Coleman restored Blackpool's lead in the 77th minute before DJ Campbell struck twice in three minutes to seal the points. Gary Hooper reduced the deficit in the final moments but Scunthorpe remain five points above the relegation zone. Second placed West Brom, nine points clear of third placed Nottingham Forest, can take another step towards automatic promotion with a win over Leicester at the Hawthorns later on Friday.
