KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated Singapore by seven wickets making it three in a row in the ongoing ACC trophy Elite Cup in Unity Ground, Kuwait on Saturday. Nepal never looked uncomfortable chasing the victory target 217 runs in losing only three of its wickets with more than six overs remaining. Openers Anil Mandal scored 80 runs and Mahesh Chettri made 77 as two set a strong foundation for the comprehensive win for the Nepali side. At the close of what can be considered a brilliant show of run chase, Sharad Veswakar and Dipendra Chaudhary did the rest remaining on 18 and 9 not out respectively.

Earlier, electing to bat first, Singapore were all out for a mediocre total of 216 in 48 overs. Maintaining its unbeaten streak, Nepal now tops the standing in the Group A with six points from three matches. Nepal now will play the hosts, Kuwait, at Hubara Ground on 6th of April .
