Actress EVA LONGORIA PARKER has launched an Easter crusade to raise cash for 100,000 tents in two weeks to help struggling Haitians during the imminent rainy season. The Desperate Housewives star has linked up with online charity AHomeInHaiti.org to raise awareness about the misery facing Haitians left homeless by the nation's recent earthquake. She says, "The rainy season is coming to Haiti any day now and there's 700,000 homeless Haitians still today and once the rain comes, there's mud that carries malaria and typhoid. "Haiti is still not really structured to handle those type of diseases, that are really simple and curable, but for (the) elderly and young kids and people recovering from injury, it's really devastating. So we're trying to get tents there as fast as we can." The actress is urging fans to donate funds via the website. As WENN went to press, cash for more than 5,000 tents had been raised.
