KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) today expressed serious concern about the disruption in the circulation of Rajdhani vernacular daily and manhandling of an administrative staff of Utsarga Publications, the publisher of the newspaper. Agitating in-house journalists and employees for the past few days have been disrupting circulation of the daily. In a press release, FNJ said journalists and employees affiliated to All Nepal Press and Communication Workers’ Union and Revolutionary Journalists’ Association, Rajdhani branch, have been obstructing circulation of the newspaper. “They attacked Raj Kumar Lamichhane, an employee in the accounts section of Utsarga Publication. They also threatened news desk chief Mohan Dhungel over telephone over a news published in the daily,” the statement said. “Creating hurdles in the publication and circulation of newspaper to press the publishers to meet their demands is an attack on press freedom and people’s rights to information,” read the statement. Federation of Nepali Journalists also condemned the attack on the employee and threats issued to the journalists.
