RAJBIRAJ: Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum Chairman Upendra Yadav said today Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal should voluntarily step down to rescue the country from prevailing crisis. 'The incumbent government is hatching conspiracy to delay the constitution drafting. The best alternative at this point of time is Prime Minister Nepal quits and paves the way for a national unity government,' Yadav told reporters here. He also accused the government of not acting even when the country's security situation is going from bad to worse. 'Impunity is on the rise and corruption rampant but the government is doing nothing,' he said. 'Issues like right to self determination, press freedom, Madhesh movement have been shelved.' The Forum chairman took strong exception to the High Level Political Mechanism as well and said it was working to derail the peace process and thwart constitution promulgation. Co-chairman of the party, Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta said the incumbent government was a desperate failure and it was hindering formation of the national unity government. Gupta also said the prime minister should resign and give way to the main opposition, the UCPN-Maoist, to lead the national unity government to accomplish the twin tasks of writing the new statute and taking the peace process to a logical conclusion.
