Maoists rally across Nepal to gather public support

KATHMANDU: The UCPN-Maoist organised mass protests and mass gatherings throughout the nation on Tuesday to observe the fourth anniversary of Janaandolan II. UCPN-M is organising the mass gatherings as a part of mounting pressure to maintain the civilian supremacy, promulgate the statute on time and take the peace process to a logical conclusion. According to Dinanath Sharma, spokesperson of the UCPN-Maoist the mass protests and mass gatherings have been organised in reaction to the conspiracies against peace and constitution and to drum up public support for the same. Maoist supremo Pushpa Kamal Dahal and other leaders are set to address the mass gathering which is scheduled to be held at Khula Manch, Kathmandu. Almost all leaders in-charge of various districts have already reached their destinations. Vice chairman Baburam Bhattarai has been assigned Gulmi, Narayankaji Shrestha 'Prakash' is in Gorkha, chief secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal' is in Makawanpur, secretaries CP Gajurel and Post Bahadur Bogati are in Morang and Rasuwa respectively to participate in the mass gatherings in their scheduled districts. Likewise Maoist standing committee members Top Bahadur Rayamajhi has been dispatched to Dhankuta, Giriraj Mani Pokharel to Parsha, spokesperson Dinanath Sharma to Nawalparasi, Netra Bikram Chanda 'Biplop' to Chitwan, Barsaman Pun to Rolpa, Amik Sherchan to Magdi, Krishna Bahadur Mahara to Banke, Dev Gurung to Kaski and Lilamani Pokharel to Jajarkot. Similarly members of the politburo committee Ram Karki has been sent to Ilam, Janardan Sharma to Bhojpur, Kul Prasad KC to Jhapa, Bishwonath Shah to Dhanusa, Bhim Prasad Gautam to Kapilvastu, Devendra Poudel to Rupandehi, Ani Sapkota to Ramechhap, Bishwo Bhakta Dulal to Sindhupalchowk and Hitraj Pande to Lamjung. Likewise among members, Hemanta Prakash Oli is in Rukum, Lokendra Bista in Salyan, Hari Bhakta Kandel in Dang, Santi Basnet in Bardiya, Lekh Raj Bhatta in Kailali, Khagendra Bahadur Biswokarma in Surkhet and Dharmendra Bastola in Doti. Ganeshman Pun, YCL chairman and central member will address the gathering in Sunsari. The central members will address the mass gatherings in the other districts.
