Nepal Philatelic Society participated in the Hong Kong 2004 philately exhibition held on January 31. Shankar Shrestha was the commissioner for this event. He left on January 28 with six entries from Nepal.

On February 4, the result of the philately competition at the exhibition was announced and all six entries that were sent from Nepal had won. 'This is a matter of great pride,' said Kedar Pradhan, president of the Society and also a contestant. 'All have won above silver. This will encourage youngsters’ interest in philately for sure.' The winners are: Senior collectors: Shyam Nhuchhe Pradhan, Shyam Agrawal, Kedar Pradhan and Ujjol Kapoor Shrestha. Junior collectors: Rakshya Devi Shrestha and Shristi Nhuchhe Pradhan
