JANAKPURDHAM: A youth killed his mother over a domestic dispute at Gaushala Municipality-7, Mahottari, on Friday morning. According to Area Police Office Gaushala in-charge Inspector Machhindra Babu KC, 18-year-old Dilip Sada killed his 45-year-old mother Kariya Devi Sada with a sharp weapon. The victim died while being rushed to hospital. She had received a deep injury on her neck. The body has been sent to District Hospital for post-mortem. Dilip has been arrested by Area Police Office. Bridge installed MAHENDRANAGAR: A new suspension bridge over the Doda River in Kanchanpur has been completed. The old bridge was swept away by floods about seven years ago. Thousands of residents of Shankarpur VDC and surrounding areas had been relying on boats to cross the river in the absence of a bridge. District Development Committee has spent around Rs 30 million to install the bridge. “Even the boats had stopped operating during monsoon, as a result we had almost lost contact with the people across the river,” shared Santu Rana, a local, adding that the new bridge had brought great relief to the children whose schools are across the river. Five hurt in accident Khotang: At least five persons were injured when a commuter bus en route from Regmitar to Diktel turned turtle at Buipa, Panchedobato, in Khotang, this morning. The injured were on their way to Ditken to sit for a Public Service Commission examination. The injured have been identified as Dabal Kumari Rai, 33, and Gita Thapa Magar, 24, of Saune-3, Netra Bahadur Rai, 24, of Nepaltar-4 of Udayapur, Rama Suyal, 30, of Lekkharka, Bhojpur and Chandra Kumari Choudhary, 37, of Tarahi-1, Saptari, said DSP Binod Raj Kharel of District Police Office Khotang. According to DSP Kharel, they have received injuries on their heads and have been referred to Kathmandu for treatment. A total of 34 examinees were aboard the bus. Bus driver Dal Bahadur Poudel has been detained.
