Kathmandu, June 4:

Association of the Sufferers of the Maoists Atrocities of Nepal has sought resignation of home minister Dan Bahadur Shahi for his “irresponsible” statement. Earlier on Thursday Minister Dan Bahadur Shahi in an interview to the BBC Nepali service reportedly compared the Maoist victims’ fight for their rights as an uprising by a small group of just 22 people and said that the protest will fade away. The association has commented against the statement saying it is an irresponsible act by a Home Minister, a press statement issued today said. “The government should make public its authentic stance towards the Maoists victims,” acting ASMAN president Dharma Raj Neupane said, adding, the third phase of their movement would begin with the torch rally tomorrow evening.
