JANAKPURDHAM, July 12 Madhes-based political parties staged a protest rally against the draft statute as it lacks demarcation of federal provinces and their nomenclature and discriminatory citizenship provisions in Janakpurdham on Sunday. Rallies taken out by Tarai Madhes Democratic Party, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, Tarai Madhes Sadbhavana Party, and Sadbhavana Party hoisted black flags in Janakpurdham. Tarai Madhes Democratic Party central member and CA member Bijay Kumar Singh said people’s participation was thin, as they had not called people to join the protest. “This is an awareness-centred protest programme. We shall accelerate the agitation gradually,” Singh added. Professor Bhogendra Jha said that agitation would be successful if it was able to accommodate all the parties. Meanwhile, various Madhes-based parties took out a rally waving black flags against the four major political parties. They hoisted black flags after the rally at Mahendra Chowk.
