Lalitpur Alisha Manandhar, 24 and Bunu Shrestha, 14 were already on the DAV School ground, Jawalakhel around 4:00 pm on August 1. The cousins had come for their favourite band’s concert. It was the first Nepathya concert for Manandhar, she was excited for the event since a day before because “I had watched their Melbourne concert video and had goosebumps”. Meanwhile, Shrestha who started listening to Nepathya because of her cousin, tagged along  with Manandhar for her first ever concert. The duo from Jorpati were the first females to enter the venue for the concert. They reserved their space at the front row and waited for the Nepathya Live in Concert to begin. The concert began at 7:00 pm and Nepathya hit the right note for the next two hours. Time flew by with their rocking performances. With the elements of Nepali and rock music, songs like Jeevan Ho, Jomsomai Bazar Ma, Bhedako Una Jasto, Himal Chuchure, Resham, Taalko Paani and patriotic songs like Gaun Gaun Bata Utha, thoroughly entertained the audience. As the Nepali rhythm and tunes of nepalipann reverberated the venue through Nepali percussion, drums, guitar, keyboard and bass, the crowd sang and danced or swayed along the enthralling performances. It was not only the music that touched the audience but messages on traffic rules or about Nepal by the vocalist Amrit Gurung also made an impact on the audience. “The concert was fun, refreshing and full of love for the country,” Manandhar shared adding, “I had goosebumps.” She had been a fan of the band since their Chhekyo Chhekyo days when she was in Class II. When other artistes sing love and sad songs, “this band’s music brings you closer to your country”. As such Manandhar “felt proud to be a Nepali” during the concert. She danced and cheered to their tunes too. Shrestha also enjoyed her first concert. “The feel of their music made me happy and dance,” she shared about her experience. Another one in the front row was Sujan Malla from Samakhusi who had a blast in the concert. “I am a big fan of Nepathya. This is my dream come true. I really wanted to watch them perform since a long time. Last time when they performed at Patan, I had to stretch my neck among the crowd for an hour and half without moving to watch them. I wasn’t satisfied then and I made  my mind to attend their concert again,” he expressed. And here he was! When the concert started, he was in the middle of the crowd but he made his way to the front row after a few performances. By the end of the concert, he was on cloud nine. “I have no words to explain how much I enjoyed the concert,” he quipped when asked how Nepathya’s concert, adding, “It was a show of an international level.” His love for the band goes back to his school days. “Their songs are written on the basis of reality. Where ever he (Gurung) travels to, he creates songs, which is the best part of the band. This is also the reason why their songs become popular,” the 22-year-old expressed.
