KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) has decided to resort to a 'strong protest’ in the Constituent Assembly in disagreement to the new constitution draft, which, the party leaders said, has failed to incorporate sentiments of the people. The meeting of the party’s Central Committee and Parliamentary Party held at Singh Durbar today took a decision to that effect. The RPP-N has already submitted a note of dissent before the Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee against the constitution draft. It has been insisting that issues on constitutional monarchy, secularism, federalism and republic should be settled through referendum. The party claimed that the draft cannot bring political stability and peace in the country. Emerging from the meeting, RPP-N Chairman Kamal Thapa shared that the party will launch a campaign to ensure its some agendas including making Nepal a Hindu state from Monday. Party chief whip Tilanath Giri said that demarcation of the proposed provinces is not in the interest of the nation and that such issues be sorted out through the referendum.
