Rajbiraj, August 16 General Secretary of Sadbhawana Party Manish Kumar Suman today warned that the lawmakers of his party would resign within 24 hours if the final constitution draft was promulgated in the same condition as the draft statute. Speaking in an interaction organised by Madhesi Journalists Society Saptari, in Rajbiraj today, Suman said that the Supreme Court had barred the 16-point agreement, but the constitution making process was under way. “We are compelled to protest against the conspiracy that deprives the Madhes of its rights,” he added. Suman said that they have been protesting with the demand that the present constitution draft be rewritten. “The alliance of Madhes-based parties was formed for the same reason and other parties have also supported our demands,” he informed. He said that the citizenship certificate, complete press freedom and inclusiveness were missing in the constitution draft and these should be rectified. Suman claimed that the sketch of the six provinces could not include the feelings of the poor, Madhesi, Dalits, indigenous, ethnic and marginalised communities among others. Central member Ashok Kumar Yadav of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal also warned that a decisive protest would begin if the statute did not include the people’s sentiments. “Lawmakers of my party will also quit the CA if the new statute does not include the feelings of all,” he said. Leaders and cadres of the 33-party alliance were present at the programme.
