KATHMANDU: Miss Nepal 1999 Shweta Singh is currently the CEO of The Hidden Treasure — the company that organises the national pageant Miss Nepal every year. She is also the business Director of MC Studios and IPD, a Training Institute. Since 2004 she has been involved in counselling and personality enhancement training. She has plans to establish new trends and developing ways and method to improve the education system in the country focusing on soft skill development. Here she gets nostalgic about her college days MY ALMA MATER(S) I graduated from Loreto Convent College, Lucknow. COURSE STUDIED I studied Psychology with Human Behaviour and Organisational Behaviour. COLLEGE LIFE College is the only place where you make true friends for life. BEST OF COLLEGE LIFE Having no worries, no responsibilities, enjoying life to the fullest and living for the present is the best of my college life. LASTING MEMORIES All are intact and will last for a lifetime as every memory from my school and college is precious. However, there is one that during my student life along with three other friends — we were very popular and were known as PASS. PASS stands for Prarthna, Aditi, Simerna and Shweta. Till date we have a FB group of our batchmates where everyone talks about PASS. LESSON LEARNT That English as a language is very important for an Asian’s career and prosperity. WORDS TO HEED While stepping into college life, make plans and have focus on what you actually need to study and do research before enrolling yourself in college. Don’t just jump into a faculty for reasons that are not important to you. Take utmost care before finalising the stream you want to take up for your future and take a career counselling. HOW TO ACE IN COLLEGE As everyone says that their school and college days were the best, thus I would suggest the youth to enjoy the limited best carefree days of their lives and while doing so, carefully identify what your passion lies in. If you do what you love doing, it is the best way to live a satisfied life.
