Parliament condemns violence

Kathmandu, August 24 The Parliament today unanimously passed a motion condemning the incidents of violence across the country. The Parliament said it condemned such incidents of violence that appeared to have communal ramifications. “Expression of dissatisfaction and grievances are natural at this stage of constitution making process but using violence to express grievances is not acceptable,” read the motion. The Parliament also appealed to all Nepalis, civil society members, political parties and organisations to be active to promote national unity, harmony and peace. The Parliament also urged all to maintain restraint and asked the law enforcement agencies to remain steadfast in their duty to maintain peace and security in the country.
