KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has directed its lawmaker Shekhar Koirala to withdraw the amendment proposal on the Revised Bill of Nepal’s Constitution, 2015 that he registered at the Constituent Assembly, on Friday, going against the party directives. Flouting the party directives, Koirala had registered the amendment proposal as per the Rule 99 of CA Regulations. According to the party sources, Chief Whip Chinkaji Shrestha directed Koirala to withdraw the proposal. Earlier this week, the ruling party had issued instructions to their CA members not to register any proposal on the provisions of draft constitution without consulting their parties. NC Chief Whip Shrestha on August 31 had issued a circular to NC CA members telling them not to individually register any proposal on the draft constitution. Shrestha had said he had issued instruction to CA members after being told by the party leaders to do the same. Shrestha had made it clear that it was not a whip but merely an instruction. READ ALSO:
