BIRGUNJ: The final rites of Hifajat Miya Ansari, who was killed in police firing during a clash between cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front and security personnel in Kalaiya of Bara on August 31, was performed on Sunday. Police had opened a fire when he was crossing the prohibitory zone. Kin of the deceased and agitating party activists did not accept the body demanding martyrdom for the deceased and compensation to the family. However, they agreed to receive the body after the local administration agreed to recommend martyrdom and compensation. They had taken out a rally with the body before performing his final rites as per Muslim tradition.
