KATHMANDU: Outgoing Chief of Army Staff Gen Gaurav SJB Rana on Monday said his tenure as chief of Nepali Army remained smooth despite the challenging political transition. Addressing his own farewell programme organised by the NA at Army headquarters, his said his leadership had been successful in completing the remaining tasks of the integration of former Maoist combatants into the national force. Rana completes his three-year stint as CoAS on Thursday and Acting Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Rajendra Chhetri will succeed him. Chhetri assured he would continue all positive works initiated during Rana’s tenure once he assumed NA’s leadership.
