Damauli, September 8 A day after his mysterious death, locals and kin of a teenage boy of Byas municipality, Tanahun, picketed the district police office today, demanding action against persons involved in killing the boy. Purna Bahadur Ale, 16, of the district was found hanging from a tree on the premises of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Campus in Byas, Bigyanchaur yesterday. The 10th grader of local Maharshi Ved Byas Sanskrit Secondary School had set out from his home for tuition class on Saturday morning, but never came back. Today, around 500 irate locals and kin of the deceased picketed DPO describing the incident as murder and demanded action against the guilty. They also enforced a chakkajam on Prithvi Highway for about half an hour. “It was murder as there were bruises all over his body,” claimed the deceased’s sister Bisara Thapa, adding that they wouldn’t receive his body until the authorities investigated the incident and brought the guilty to book. Tanahun police Chief SP Mohan Kumar Acharya said, “As of now, we’ve started investigating by detaining two persons. Everything will come to light once the investigation is over.” The body is in Damauli Hospital. Doctors said the post-mortem report will come in a few days.
