MAHOTTARI: A pregnant woman, deprived of timely treatment, reportedly died in Mahottari on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as the wife of Ranjit Pandit, a local resident of Kolhuwabageya VDC in Mahottari. His wife, who was being rushed to the District Hospital for delivery, died on the way, local resident Jitendra Kumar Mandal said. He said that Pandit's wife started experiencing labour at around 11 pm last night and that they could not find any ambulance due to the overnight curfew. He added that private vehicles refused to ferry the patient to the hospital due to the curfew, leading to her death. Locals said that with no option in hand, they transported the patient on a bullock cart, but to no avail.
