Late Armed Police Force Assistant Sub-inspector Thaman Singh BK's body being taken for final rites, at Raptighat, in Kanchanpur VDC, Banke, on Sunday.

Nepalgunj, September 13 The final rites of Armed Police Force Assistant Sub-Inspector Thaman Bahadur BK — who was brutally killed by United Democratic Madhesi Front demonstrators four days ago in Mahottari — was performed on the banks of the Rapti River, in Banke, today. BK was a resident of Kachanapur-5, Madui, Banke. Thousands of well-wishers and people gathered at the function. APF offered a salute during the rites. Armed Police Force Bageshwori Battalion Shamshergunj Chief SP Man Bahadur Shahi, Border Security Office DSP Prakash Subedi and kin of the deceased, among others, were present. The body was kept Nepalgunj-based APF Battalion for last respects. APF Nauwasta Training Centre Chief SSP Gopal Mishra draped the body with the national flag. According to sources, the body was airlifted to Chitwan from Mahottari yesterday night and was taken to Nepalgunj today morning. BK’s wife Shobha is yet to regain consciousness.
