Janakpurdham, September 14 Local administrations in Dhanusha and Mahottari districts today reduced curfew hours. Dhanusha DAO lifted the curfew order clamped from 5:00pm to 9:00pm in Janakpur municipal area today. The DAO had imposed indefinite curfew order from last Friday in Janakpur. Three persons were killed in police firing when agitators defied the curfew and staged demonstrations on Friday. The bodies have been kept at Janakpur Zonal Hospital. Dhanusha CDO Kali Prasad Parajuli said the curfew would not be completely lifted until the bodies were received by the deceased’s family members. The agitators, however, have demanded that the curfew be completely lifted to create conducive environment for receiving the bodies. Meanwhile, Mahottari DAO lifted the curfew order clamped from 6:00am to 9:00am and 4:00pm to 6:00pm in Jaleshwor area. The final rites of six persons killed in police firing in Jaleshwor could not be performed due to bandh and curfew. The bodies are stranded at Jaleshwor Hospital. Though the agitators had prepared mass cremation, it could not take place after they failed to reach agreement with the DAO regarding the route for the funeral procession. Ram Naresh Ray, Dhanusha chair of FSFN, accused the DAO of not allowing them to take out the funeral procession. Mahotatri CDO Dipak Kafle, however, refuted the allegation.
