UDMF holds mass cremation of cadres killed in Janakpur clashes

JANAKPURDHAM: Agitating cadres of Madhes-based parties gave a mass funeral to three persons who were killed in police-protester clashes in Janakpur on Friday. Cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF)-affiliated parties organised a mass cremation of the three cadres who were killed in police firing four days ago, at Mujeliya of Janakpur. Sanjay Chaudhary (42), Dilip Yadav (13) from Sinurjoda and Niku Yadav (18) from Gopalpur VDC of Dhanusha district were killed during protests organised by the UDMF against some provisions of the draft constitution. Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato draped flags of UDMF constituent parties over the bodies at the Janakpur Zonal Hospital, in Janakpurdham. Other central leaders of the parties were present in the funeral procession. Curfew clamped in the town was lifted to let people take part in the funeral procession. Meanwhile, three persons killed during clashes in neighbouring Mahottari district were also cremated today.
