KATHMANDU: Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang on Saturday extended the time for CA members to sign the constitution until 5:00pm on Sunday. President Ram Baran Yadav is scheduled to unveil the new statute at the CA meeting slated for 5:00pm. “Although 537 members signed the document on Friday, the CA rules permit members to sign on the new constitution before the announcement of its commencement by the president,” said Nembang at a press meet held at the CA building on Saturday. Urging those members who are yet to sign the document, Nembnag said, “Constitution drafting became possible due to the struggle and sacrifice of even those who are now outside the CA due to their reservations on some contents of the statute. So, I request you to use this historic opportunity by signing the first ever constitution drafted by the people’s representative and make efforts towards more achievements by making the document a foundation.”
